Common uses
This medicine is a wound healing agent used along with strict wound care to
promote the healing of skin ulcers of the lower legs or feet that can occur as a
complication of diabetes.
Before using
Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. INFORM
YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that
you are taking. DO NOT START OR STOP any medicine without doctor or pharmacist
approval. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies,
pregnancy, or breast-feeding. Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you have any
questions or concerns about taking this medicine.
Directions
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This
medicine may come with a patient information leaflet. Ask your doctor, nurse, or
pharmacist any questions you may have about this medicine. Wash your hands
immediately before and after using this medicine. Using a clean applicator
(cotton tipped swab or tongue depressor), spread the gel in a thin layer evenly
over the affected area. Cover with a moist dressing. Change the dressing as
directed by your doctor. Before applying more medicine, rinse the affected area
to remove any remaining medicine. Be careful not to touch the tip of the
medicine tube to the skin or any other surface. Replace cap after each use.
Store this medicine in the refrigerator between 36 and 46 degrees F (2 and 8
degrees C). Do not freeze. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, use it as soon
as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and
go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do NOT use 2 doses at once.
Possible side effects
NO COMMON SIDE EFFECTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED with the proper use of this
medicine. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience a red
skin rash in the treated area. If you notice other effects not listed above,
contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
If you take too much
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or
emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

If your doctor tells you to limit your physical activity while you are using
this medicine, follow your doctor"s instructions carefully. DO NOT SHARE THIS
MEDICINE with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE
for other health conditions. KEEP THIS MEDICINE out of the reach of children. IF
USING THIS MEDICINE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, obtain refills before your
supply runs out.
