Nepafenac eye suspension

What is Nepafenaceye suspension?
NEPAFENAC eye suspension is a nonsteroidalanti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Nepafenac eyesuspension helps relieve eye pain and inflammation after cataract surgery. Genericnepafenac eye suspension is not yet available.

What should I tell my health careprovider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
•asthma
•bleeding problems
•contact lenses
•diabetes mellitus
•dry eyes or other eye problems or recent eye surgery
•an unusual or allergic reaction to nepafenac,aspirin, other anti-inflammatory drugs, other medicines, foods, dyes orpreservatives
•pregnant or trying to get pregnant
•breast-feeding

How should this medicine be used?
Nepafenac eye suspension is only for use in the eye.Do not take by mouth. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Removecontact lenses before putting the drops in your eyes and leave them out for atleast 5 minutes after putting drops into your eyes. Wash your hands before andafter using the drops. Shake the bottle well before use. Try not to touch thetip of the dropper to your eye, fingertips, or any other surface. Tilt yourhead back slightly and pull your lower eyelid down with your index finger toform a pouch. Squeeze the prescribed number of drops into the pouch. Close theeye gently to spread the drops. Do not rub your eyes. Your vision may blur fora few minutes. Use your medicine at regular time intervals. Do not use your medicinemore often than directed. Do not use any other eye products without tellingyour prescriber or health care professional.

Contact your pediatrician or health care professional regarding the use of thismedicine in children. Special care may be needed.

What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for yournext dose, use only that dose. Do not use double or extra doses.

What drug(s) may interact with Nepafenac?
•medicines that treat or prevent blood clots such as warfarinor other "blood thinners"
•other eye drops, such as corticosteroids


Tell your prescriber or health care professional about all other medicines youare taking, including non-prescription medicines, nutritional supplements, orherbal products. Also tell your prescriber or health care professional if youare a frequent user of drinks with caffeine or alcohol, if you smoke, or if youuse illegal drugs. These may affect the way your medicine works. Check withyour health care professional before stopping or starting any of yourmedicines.

What side effects may I noticefrom receiving Nepafenac?
Side effects that you should report to your prescriber or health careprofessional as soon as possible:
•bleeding in the white part of your eye
•rash or swelling around the eye
•sores in the eye or eye irritation that gets worse

Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to yourprescriber or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome):
•burning or stinging after putting the drops in your eye
•dry, red, or itchy eyes
•tearing or feeling of something in the eye
•sensitivity of the eyes to light
•decreased or blurred vision

What should I watch for whiletaking Nepafenac?
Let your prescriber or health care professional know if your eye symptoms donot improve after 2 to 3 days. Do not use these eye drops for longer thanprescribed by your doctor.

Unless your prescriber or health care professionaltells you it is okay, you should avoid wearing contact lenses while you areusing nepafenac eye drops.

Nepafenac eye drops can make your eyes more sensitiveto sunlight. It might help to wear sunglasses while using this medicine.
